Charlie Dior urges VGMA Celebrities to Dress to Impress

As the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) draws closer, Ghanaian fashion critic and internet sensation, Charlie Dior, has warned red carpet attendees to put in extra effort in their fashion choices. In an interview with NEWSONE, Charlie advised celebrities to avoid dressing anyhow to the VGMA event, as they would be open to criticism from his fashion review show.

According to the fashion stylist, the VGMA is the most significant event in the Ghanaian entertainment industry, and celebrities should use the platform to showcase their fashion prowess. Charlie urged celebrities to spend money on their looks and avoid relying on freebies. “We have so many stylists in Ghana and amazing fashion designers ready to dress them up. Dress to show the world what we have in Ghana,” he said.

Charlie further stated that his fashion review programme has given most celebrities an idea of how to dress to make a statement on the red carpet. “This has pressured everybody to bring their finest to the red carpet. This has made most people take the red carpet seriously,” he added.

The VGMA is set to take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023, at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC). This year’s edition promises to be an exciting event with live performances from Black Sherif, Sarkodie, Piesie Esther, and other nominees.

For the most part, the VGMA is an opportunity for celebrities to showcase their fashion sense, creativity and represent Ghanaian fashion on a global stage.
